I finished a project!
After many extensions and fussing over materials and accesories, I finished my extermal client project!
The main brief was to design something for LA SENZA. Yep.
I decided to create an EXTREME (highly gareth Pugh) inspired piece, and this is what I got;

Just an update!
Well, I just wanted to tell you about my projects. I'm still on the sportswear and lingerie projects, and they are coming along smoothly!
When it comes down to the sportswear, i thought it would be the cheaper option, but obviously I was wrong!
I cant afford to do the prints I wanted, or make the protective gear I wanted.. so now my high end gear is going to look cheaper than it should be...(ToT)
The lingerie, I'll be honest, I'm behind. But that's what you get when you have huge projects coming all at once!
I've got the basic research done, its just the garment that is killing me.
I have made 3 bras, and all are wrong! I just cant seem to get the look I want!
And the padded sides? dear god that is just comitting suicide each time I try to sew something on the machines! I tell ya, once I get this sorted, I will just die with happiness!
Then there is the model situation, man, I dont even know if I will be picked yet, and I'm having to get a model? god, I'm putting my friends hopes a bit high in asking her for this HUGE favour.... (¬.¬)
My god, I complain A LOT.
I should really get my act together. Lets hope I do!

It's sportswear baby!
Im back baby!
And with this second year at De Montfort University, I am now studying sports and swimwear (and contour).
Our newest projects are to design 2 sportswear outfits and for an external lingerie client.
Sportswear;
We have been given tutorials on how to make these garments;
I have chosen downhill biking, since my friend is a hardcore biker and I can use that for research.
When I asked him a few questions on this form of biking, the biggest realisation is that women are highly victimised in this area when it comes to clothing. It is uncomfortable for them and when even looking at high end stores, even they do not have formed protection for women bikers.
The protection they have now flattens the bust and does not flatter the female form.
So I plan to resolve this!
You shall see a new reolution in female sportswear!

In this separate part of the course, we were taught on how to make;
With these, we are to design for an external client (All shall be revealed soon!) creating a control collection for them.I think I'll keep this one a secret. ^_^

Well, this is going nowhere
Honestly, this fashion blog isn't working out... So I'm going to update you on my fashion project and doings!
1. I've been set a project!
It's not much, just to design a garment involving some acessories made by Fildan Acessories (An Austrian company who makes the bits of plastic on your bra strap etc)
But since I'm away for most of the deadline, I've been having to work my arse off on the Inspiration board (Explains itself), development board (5 designs) and a final presentation board (illustration of my chosen piece and F&B flat drawings).
Luckily, I have illustrator at my abode, so it was a no brainer...
BUT...
They want us to plan MARKETING.
USP's and graphs???
I gave up maths when I picked up that needle!!
Mannn..
Anyway, back on the subject..

Well, I haven't been doing much persay.
I mean, does going to London in June count? (I'll admit, I didn't do much shopping..)
BUT I did venture into Selfridges a while back...
If a multi millionaire takes a liking to this blog, fancy buying me an Alexander McQueen (R.I.P) shirt?
Now THAT'S £200 of sheer beauty.
Well, I'll update this when I can. Lets hope all goes well in this beautiful world we call fashion!

Bustier and Suspender Belt
These are just examples of how good
we can make lingerie in our first year,
like when we made the briefs and thong.
The paper pattern is made up from the mannequin,
which we use calico to wrap around the mannequin
then copy it onto spot & cross paper
to make sure everything fits.
The Bustier
It is made up of 8 panels,
using plastic boning, overfolding elastic for the hem,
hook and eyes and a special machine
to create the holding for the boning.
The Suspender Belt.
It is made up of 8 panels.
Basically using the same techniques and materials
as the bustier.
With added suspender clips.
Briefs and thong
Both of these are easy to make,
you just need an overlocker and sewing machine.
The overlocker is needed to add stretch to the pants.
The briefs were made of 3 panels and a gusset. Very Easy.
The thong (back view) has 3 panels and a gusset.
The only difference in making both is that obviously the style
but also that the gusset on the thong
is not attached to the back of the thong,
whilst on the brief it is attached on all sides.
Thinking about how easy these are to make,
it would be nice to see underwear as outerwear more..
but then you think of all the fat kids who would wear them...
urgh... ><
